Black Mountain Mine Update

May 27, 2013

For those of you who have either visited or were wanting to hike to the Black Mountain flume where they used to mine for arsenic in the 40's, we have since found several of the mines! Click this link (http://www.hiddensandiego.net/black-mountain-mine.php) for an update on the page and directions to the mines. We were also greeted by a creepy, decapitated witch doll in one of the mines and found a crashed jeep deep in the canyon. Fun!

Abandoned Homes of Hellhole Canyon

April 14, 2013

I FINALLY went back to the Abandoned Homes of Hellhole Canyon. This was one of my more popular pages and yet people were having a lot of trouble finding it.  There are now TONS of photos as well as better directions.  This place is not easy to find but since looking at Google Maps it appears that there may be a much easier way to get to them than the way we went.  Happy exploring and make sure to be respectful to this area!

McWay Falls Painting

February 19, 2013

The painting below was inspired by one of my photos from my Big Sur trip during the summer of 2012.  The photo was taken at the McWay Falls which is an absolutely breathtaking location.  I wanted to do a spin on the painting, as I usually try to do, by breaking it up as though it were stained glass.  This painting comes framed, was created with acrylic paint and is 13X15".

Warner Springs Painting

February 16, 2013

I created another "Hidden San Diego" painting. This painting was created after spending a weekend in Warner Springs.  It is based off of our view at sunset from the home we stayed at.  It is 16X20" and was created with acrylic paint, tissue paper, a real Manzanita branch from the area, stones and lastly fallen feathers from peacocks & flamingos!
